The May Red Flag winner goes to... Fraud.org! In response to growing telemarketing and Internet fraud, the National Consumers League (NCL) founded Fraud.org to arm consumers with important information to avoid scams. In addition to educating consumers through fraud alerts, Fraud.org offers direct counseling and support to potential fraud victims. Law enforcement agencies can get involved in the Fraud Alert System (FAS), which forwards fraud complaints received by Fraud.org to investigative agencies.
Fraud.org has been successful in its fraud prevention efforts, helping millions of consumers protect themselves and loved ones against malicious scams. Nearly 100,000 people visit the site each month, and thousands of consumer complaints are collected by Fraud.org and shared with NCL's more than 90 law enforcement partners.
